Targeted selections for construction professionals in British Columbia

Targeted selections for construction professionals in British Columbia

Immigration shenanigans meet the needs of the labor market.

Starting November 16, 2023, 25 construction trades will have priority under the British Columbia Provincial Immigration Program (BC PNP). This change is due to the five-year Homes for People plan created to address housing in BC.

Targeted invitations will be drawn among workers in certain construction trades with occupational qualifications relevant to British Columbia. This requirement ensures that workers invited by the province will be prepared to contribute immediately to the B.C. labor market.

Here's the full list of occupations:

However, professionals in other construction trades will also be able to receive an invitation through BC's provincial program.

The first targeted selection for construction sector professionals has already taken place November 16. It invited 12 candidates who scored at least 75 points in the provincial evaluation system.

We will continue to monitor targeted draws in British Columbia, and data on all selections can be found here. And to learn how to properly apply for the immigration program, sign up for a personal consultation.
